I’ve been a medical herbalist and foraging tutor since 2012. I offer clinic consultations in Glasgow and foraging walks and workshops throughout the West of Scotland. I also offer make your own herbal medicine workshops at a range of community and private venues. You can contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org. I’m also on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/GreenHealthGlasgowCatriona/ and Twitter: https://twitter.com/CatrionaGHerbal and Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/catrionagibsonherbal/
I became interested in herbal medicine due to my love of the outdoors and environmental issues, whilst also wanting to work with people. I first moved to Glasgow to work in a project with women who were homeless and became interested in how this affected health and wellbeing. I’ve also worked extensively with people experiencing addiction and with people in the asylum system.
I started foraging as an adult – except for picking the odd Blackberry for jam – and have taught myself through practice, books and learning from others amazing skills. This includes many colleagues in the Association of Foragers – a professional body for foraging tutors and suppliers.
I am a registered medical herbalist, based in Glasgow in the West of Scotland. I currently see patients on Tuesdays at Woodland Herbs in the city’s West End.
I host regular foraging walks and workshops throughout Glasgow and the West of Scotland. These are always seasonal so are different all year round.
I run workshops on seasonal food and medicine, especially using familiar herbs, spices and sometimes fruit and vegetables, that you probably use already in cooking.
